Jump Start Builders Inc. was established by husband and wife team, Dr. Crystal and Clifford Cooper, as an educational initiative rooted in a shared commitment to empowering youth through hands-on learning. As the impact grew, the program expanded to support families, educators, and communities. Today, it operates as a community-focused initiative that brings together youth, families, and educators through construction-based STEAM experiences, while promoting community connection, character development, and the understanding that children are the builders of tomorrow.

Dr. Crystal Cooper brings over 25 years of experience in educational leadership and nonprofit management, with a focus on program development, professional learning, and organizational capacity building. She has led initiatives that strengthen educators, expand access to high-quality learning, and improve outcomes for children and communities. Her expertise in designing impactful programs and leading mission-driven organizations established the foundation for Jump Start Builders.

Clifford Cooper is a 30-year seasoned property investor and project manager with lifelong roots in construction. He witnessed both the rewards and risks of the industry firsthand. His father, a skilled contractor, tragically lost his life in a worksite accident, an event that fueled Clifford’s determination to not only honor his father’s legacy but also to ensure the next generation is equipped with both safety awareness and professional skills.

Together, the Coopers envisioned more than a program, they created a movement. Jump Start Builders introduces youth ages 4 to 24 to the fundamentals of construction through the lens of STEAM learning, character-building, and workforce readiness. By combining their expertise in education and construction, they are inspiring the next generation to dream big, work hard, and build a better future.

Their mission goes beyond teaching construction, it is about building a strong foundation in safety, self-discipline, character, and meaningful community engagement.
